The Ebonyi South People’s Democratic Party Senatorial candidate, Barrister Silas Joseph Onu, has reiterated that he’s still in the race for the February 3rd, 2024, bye-election.
It can be recalled that the seat of Ebonyi South senatorial district was declared vacant after the former Governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, resigned from the elective position to serve as Minister of Works.
Barrister Onu, who was optimistic that the party would defeat the opposition All Progressives Congress in the bye-election, called on his supporters to come out en masse and vote for the Peoples Democratic Party.
He commended the people of the zone for their acceptance despite humiliation from government officials and vowed to resist such on election day.
The Peoples Democratic Party candidate tasked security agencies to be professional and nonpartisan in the discharge of their duties.
He also appealed to the people of Ebonyi South to vote for PDP, as the era of the imposition of candidates is over in the zone, while promising to defend their votes.
