Senator Sunday Katung, the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District has appointed Mallam Iliyasu Musa and Pastor Gideon Mutum as his Special Adviser on Islamic Matters and Special Adviser on Christian Matters respectively.
The appointment was part of efforts to promote the peace-building process and religious harmony in his senatorial district.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Hon Wilson Yangye
Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Katung on Thursday evening.
The statement noted that “Mallam Iliyasu Musa is a member of the Kaduna State Peace Commission, and the Secretary of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Southern Kaduna branch.
“He has consistently been at the forefront of the advocacy for good governance and public policies aimed at enabling betterment for his people. He is a peace advocate and an advocate for non-violence, and interfaith dialogue.

While the new Special Adviser on Christian Matters, Pastor Mutum is a theologian, a public policy and governance advocate, a social worker, and the Set Man of “The Governors Assembly” (TGA). He is also the founder of Amaya Peace Foundation (APF) and WeShape Nations Institute (WENI).
“His passion has helped shaped the mandate of his ministry, where he is exemplifying and building men via the triune concepts of Rulership, Dominion, and Authority.
“Pastor Gideon has contributed positively to his community, through Amaya Peace Foundation (APF), a not-for-profit, organization with a vision to ensure peace building, empowerment, advocacy, capacity development, and enlightenment.
While congratulating the new appointees, the Senator expects the new Advisers to discharge their duties with integrity, transparency, and utmost fidelity to the Senatorial District, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.
The appointments are with immediate effects.
