Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has charged religious leaders to continue seeking God’s guidance for national unity and economic stability, as well as to keep praying for all political leaders for the betterment, growth, and development of the country.
The governor gave the charge on Sunday while speaking at the 75th Diamond Adoption Thanksgiving Service of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim, Yewa Provincial Headquarters, held at the church auditorium in Ilaro.
He noted that with the constant prayers of spiritual leaders, Nigeria will emerge strong again in all things.
Abiodun also pledged to remain non-partisan in religious matters and to continue supporting programmes and projects that promote mutual respect and freedom of worship for all.
The governor, represented by the Ogun State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, emphasised that religious harmony is crucial for peaceful coexistence and the security of lives and property within the state, pointing out that it is incumbent upon both the Church and the Government to persistently work and pray for the common good of all.
He urged the church to continue striving for greater understanding among members and to align with the developmental goals of his administration by embracing positive values and virtues in tandem with the administration’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda.
The governor appreciated the church for not only promoting spiritual growth but also serving as a beacon of hope and support, especially in these trying times.
Also speaking at the event, the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, represented by his immediate elder sister, Snr. Mother in Israel, Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, charged the congregation to remain steadfast in promoting the church’s values and ethics.
The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, appreciated the clergy and laity for the anniversary, pointing out that prayers have been the sustaining factor for the progress of the country.
