A heavy presence of security agencies including the soldiers, police and officers of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were observed on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, one of the designated venues for the #FearlessInOctoberProtest.
Our Correspondent who visited the Stadium however observed that no protesters were in sight as of 11 am.
Recall that the State High Court sitting in Abeokuta had on Monday restricted members of the #FearlessInOctober protest groups in the state to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu, Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, and Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School in Ota.
However, our Correspondent who was at the stadium to monitor the situation observed that no member of the protest group was on the ground.
It was also noted that the protesters have not been sighted in any part of the state.
Meanwhile, the annual October 1 Independence anniversary which is usually celebrated at the stadium was shifted to the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan.
