The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced that the commission would be holding an Investor Clinic in Ibadan from Thursday.
Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Dr. Emomotimi Agama, who stated this Tuesday in Abuja, said the clinic will be held during the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers Conference taking place at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan.
The SEC conducted investor clinics in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt as part of the activities for World Investor Week 2024 in October.
The SEC DG said the Clinic will afford investors the opportunity to have various issues relating to their participation in the capital market addressed as well as educate intending investors on the workings of the investment climate.
Agama implored investors to attend with a means of identification (NIN slip, International Passport, Drivers License, etc) evidence of investment as well as a passport photograph.
He said “It is also an opportunity for investors to attend and resolve issues with their investments, make inquiries, mandate their e-dividend accounts and also directly engage with the capital market players (Stock Brokers, Registrars and Fund Managers).
“We will be meeting with investors during the COS Conference in Ibadan and stock brokers will be on the ground to open stock brokerage accounts, registrars will be available to resolve unclaimed dividend issues and mandate accounts for e-dividend. Fund Managers will also be on the ground to open/manage investment accounts and our staff will also be around to attend to enquiries from investors.”
Agama implored investors to take advantage of the opportunity to resolve every pending investment issue they have and also meet with investment advisers for proper guidance.
“It will be an exciting and enlightening two days for the investing public and younger participants. We encourage everyone to key into our programmes to become better equipped for making wise and informed investment decisions,” he added.
