SDP under my leadership only recognized structure by NWC – Kogi SDP Chairman

The factional Chairman of the opposition Social Democratic Party, SDP in Kogi State, Moses Oricha, has said the party under his leadership is the only recognized structure in the state and warned impostors to stay clear of the affairs of the party..

Speaking on the outcome of the meeting of the national leadership of the party held recently, he stressed that the party’s recognition of the existing structures across the country has laid to rest the issue of any new executive committee anywhere.

He urged members to disregard those moving around the state in the name of forming local government and ward executives, saying that their action is an effort in futility.

His words “Am urging members of the general public to disregard those parading themselves as new party executives who emerged from a kangaroo Congress not recognized by the party hierarchy, INEC and constitution”.

Explaining further, he said, “The National Working Committee, NWC, after receiving a comprehensive nationwide state of affairs of the party briefing by the national chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, reaffirmed the commitment and readiness of the party to provide a viable and credible platform for all Nigerians who are focused on, and desirous of building a national consensus on good governance to change the current unsavoury narrative of our national situation.

“The party renewed its drive to champion the crusade and national quest for social justice, a better life for citizens, national progress, and sustainable development. It also reiterated its commitment to opening its gates to accommodate all patriotic politicians and young Nigerians across the country but emphasised its stand on ‘no merger’ and no ‘clean slate’ modes of collaboration.

“The NWC has also firmed up strategies to strengthen the local and diaspora structures of the party in readiness for the expansion needed for multi-tasking at multi-levels to strongly position it to win the 2027 general elections”.

Emphasizing the statement of the NWC committee of the party, he said “the party restated its willingness to accept with open arms and without conditions, new members, and that membership registration has been simplified at the state levels, the process which is to be administered ‘through existing structures under the leadership of State Chairmen’.

“The party will implement an upgrade of the registration process as soon as further enhancements are completed to incorporate computer-assisted harmonization and revalidation features in the membership revalidation and management process”.

According to him, the executive committee headed by him in the state is the only organ saddled with the responsibility of receiving new members in the state, describing those masquerading as new executives of the party as impostors who are not even members of the party, talk more of being executives of the party.
