The Lagos State government has expressed gratitude to the protesters for their peaceful demonstration and subsequent decision to end their action.
This was stated in a statement issued by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
The state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the protest leaders, stating that their choice to halt the protest underscored their belief that their voices had been heard. He described their action as both “noble” and “civilized.”
In response to the peaceful conclusion of the protest, Governor Sanwo-Olu has mandated the continuation of dialogue and engagement between the state government and the youth.
He has directed the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, the Ministry of Information and Strategy, and the Office of Civic Engagement to establish broader communication channels with various stakeholders, including protest leaders.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also cautioned citizens to remain vigilant against attempts to spread misinformation.
He urged Lagosians to avoid succumbing to divisive tactics, fake news, and rumors, asserting that such behavior does not represent the city’s values.
The governor praised the professional conduct of security agencies, including the Police Command, Department of State Services, the military, Civil Defence, and Neighborhood Watch. He also acknowledged the efforts of traditional rulers, civil society organizations, community leaders, religious figures, and student leaders in maintaining peace in Lagos.
Governor Sanwo-Olu reassured residents to continue their activities without fear, emphasizing the city’s commitment to peace and stability.
