Sadio Mane’s new teenage wife Aisha Tamba received a heroic welcome back to school from her fellow students after her marriage to the Senegal star last weekend.
BusinessDay had earlier reported that Sadio Mane tied the knot with his longtime 18-year-old girlfriend, Aisha Tamba, in a private ceremony held in Dakar, Senegal on Sunday, January 7.
The event happened six days ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast on Saturday, January 13.
A video via Senenews, a Senegalese media platform, showed how hundreds of students gathered to welcome Aisha Tamba, a fellow student back to school to continue her studies.
In the video, students gathered at the school grounds and were singing in their native Senegal language with a chorus for Aisha Tamba and Sadio Mane.
Daily Mail also reports that the 18-year-old Aisha Tamba is studying for her baccalaureate at a school in Mbao, which is a town in Dakar. A baccalaureate is an academic qualification that students tend to obtain at the end of their secondary education.
The teenager was shocked at the amazing welcome she got from her school as she smiled and waved to the crowd.
Daily Mail also reported that Aisha Tamba’s father Amadou Tamba revealed her 18-year-old daughter had been in a close relationship with 31-year-old Sadio Mane for over two years when they met each other at a family gathering.
“My wife and Aisha visited Sadio Mane’s family one day, and this is where he met her for the first time,” Tamba said as quoted by Daily Mail.
“He probably saw something special in her and his parents appreciated her as well. They came to see me. We discussed as per the tradition, agreed on everything and waited for this day to happen.”
