President Bola Tinubu has been urged by the organisers of the #EndBadGovernance protests to sack the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
The protesters said the IGP must be given the boot following the death of some demonstrators at the hands of security personnel.
They made the demand during a candlelight symposium held in honour of the victims at the Rights House in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Friday.
Daily Sun can report that the symposium was held after three days of mourning declared by the rights group, Youth Rights Campaign at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, Lagos, for those killed during the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests nationwide.
Speaking at the symposium, the National Spokesperson of the Youth Rights Campaign, Comrade Hassan Taiwo said the IGP’s stay has become untenable.
He alleged that more than 40 persons were killed by security personnel during the #EndBadGovernance protests that commenced on August 1.
“We are demanding the sacking of the Inspector General of Police,” Taiwo said.
