The newly installed president of the Rotary Club of Isheri North, Michael Omeihe, has unveiled plans to execute projects worth over N20 million during the 2024/25 rotary year.
Omeihe said this at the club’s investiture and fundraising ceremony held in Lagos over the weekend. Among the key projects he intends to execute are the equipping of a newly built primary healthcare center in Isheri Ifo, Ogun State, to serve a community of over 20,000 residents. The club will also offer free eye cataract surgery to prevent blindness in 30 community members and support basic education for around 300 pupils at a local government primary school in Isheri Olofin.
“This free surgery will prevent 30 members of the community from going blind in the near future, while the school project will improve school facilities and enhance learning for about 300 pupils,” he said.
He said environmental sustainability will be addressed through the revitalisation of the Isheri Estate Community Garden, benefiting over 20,000 residents and that the club also aims to upgrade the neonatal ward at the public General Hospital within District 9112, which serves a population of over 100,000.
Addressing the attendees, Omeihe emphasised the importance of community engagement, charitable initiatives, and strong partnerships, while expressing his gratitude for the oppourtunity to serve.
Omeihe also highlighted his passion for supporting the albino community and ensuring the club’s programs are inclusive. He called on fellow Rotarians and partners to join forces in achieving the club’s goals.
