A group under the auspice of Kano Concerned Forum has faulted the relentless attack on the person of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The group also chided some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in the country who frowned at the directive of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), who ordered the withdrawal of police personnel attached to the Kano anti-graft agency.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday in Kano, the secretary of the forum, Comrade Auwal Shuaibu, has specifically faulted the desperation with which the Kano State Government is allegedly pushing to embarrass the former governor.
He stated that “everything that happens, they always tie Ganduje to it. For instance, when an independent CSO, whose work centred on good governance made its report scoring the NNPP-led government low, they accused Ganduje of sponsoring the organization.
“The current Kano Government is aversed to any form of criticism and unwilling to take blame for its flaws.”
“Kano State Government has a huge task ahead of it. There are massive existential challenges before it.
“What the government need to do is focus on governance, rather, it spends most part of its time on chasing shadows and baseless campaigns to impugn the character and legacies of Dr Ganduje”.

While commenting, the chairman of the forum, Amb Abdullahi Mohammed chided some CSOs in the country who frowned at the directive of the IGP, who ordered the withdrawal of police personnel attached to the Kano anti-graft agency.
He said, “The directive of the IGP has nothing to do with Dr Ganduje.
He added that it will be recalled that the Court of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), had earlier suspended the Chairman of the Kano anti-corruption, Mr Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado.
“In the eyes of the law, he is a persona non grata. He could not have continued to act in such a capacity.
“I think it was on that basis the IGP gave that order. But sadly, some CSOs who are sympathetic to Mr Muhuyi had decided to question the action of the IGP.
“The IGP is not answerable to Dr Ganduje, neither is he on his payroll. Therefore, those CSOs had shown clearly that they have been compromised”.
