Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Benue , Austin Agada has drummed the support of the party to the state governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia.
Agada stated this on Tuesday at the party secretariat in Makurdi while speaking with newsmen.
The chairman appealed for synergy amongst the party members and those in public offices to deliver the campaign promises.
Agada was on Monday reinstated as the state party chairman by the state high court in Makurdi.
The chairman thanked the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume for his usual support and sacrifices towards the progress of the party in the state.
He however appealed to all members, particularly, public office holders in the state to join hands with him to ensure success of the party.
According to him, “We reiterate our support for the APC administration of Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia and we call for synergy amongst all party members and those in public offices to collectively deliver APC’s campaign promises to our people.
“By the same token, I want to extend an olive branch to our party members, leaders, and public office holders who vociferously campaigned for candidates of other parties against our party’s candidate.
“I want to remind them that the APC is the special purpose vehicle that they used to get into public office.”
It be recalled that the party chairman was on Monday reinstated by the state high court in Makurdi after being removed by another state high court.
A member of the party had approached state high court in Aliade and secured restraining order following the purported suspension of the party chairman by his Ehaje council ward exco.
The restraining order created a vacuum that was later filled by the state executive committee of the party with the appointment of an acting chairman, Benjamin Omakolo which was later nullified on Monday by the Chief Judge, Justice Maurice Ikpambese.
