The Redmi Note series is known for offering excellent value for the price. They pack in decent specs and features at very competitive prices, making them a popular choice for budget-conscious buyers who want a capable smartphone without breaking the bank.
The last two generations of the Redmi Note series, the Note 11 and Note 12, cemented their reputation for offering reliable performance and great value. Both generations boasted large, vibrant displays (often AMOLED), long-lasting batteries, and capable camera systems, making them strong contenders in the budget-friendly smartphone segment.

Well, the Redmi Note 13 series has been out on the global market and China for a few months now and Kenyans are about to get a slice of those delicious mid-range cakes as the local launch is set for sometime later this month.
To recap though, here’s what these devices have to offer.
- Redmi Note 13 Features: The Note 13 comes in both 4G and 5G versions, with different chipsets, screen brightness, glass protection and fingerprint readers. They both have a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, a 108MP main camera, a 16MP selfie camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
- Redmi Note 13 Pro Features: The Note 13 Pro has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 1800 nits peak brightness and 12-bit colour support. It has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, a 200MP main camera with OIS, and a 5100mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
- Redmi Note 13 Pro+ Features: The Note 13 Pro+ has the same screen and processor as the Pro, but with IP68 ingress protection, a glass back and an aluminium frame. It also has a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
Pricing and Availability
Redmi Note 13 Series Launch Date: Xiaomi has announced that it will launch the Redmi Note 13 series in Kenya on 31st January 2024. The series includes the base Note 13, the Pro and the Pro+ versions.
While the official price is yet to be confirmed, expect it to start around KES 24,999 (around USD 180) for the base model Note 13, KES 32,999 (around $235 USD) for the Redmi Note 13 Pro. The top-tier Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes at a premium, expected to start around KES 39,999 (around USD 285).
