Nigerian forward, Bamidele Yusuf, who is currently making waves with Serbian SuperLiga side Vojvodina, has set his sights on the league’s top scorer honour thanks to his impressive run of form in the 2024/25 season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 23-year-old currently has eight goals in 16 appearances and currently sits second behind Red Stars’ Cherif Ndiaye on the chart with just one goal separating them.

Yusuf plays as a left winger, but he can also cover the position behind the attacker, making him an additional reinforcement and competition for Vojvodina who are currently 17th in the Serbian topflight.

“I have big chances to become the top scorer of the league this season. I just need to keep working hard game by game and after the end of the season, we will see,” Yusuf told PUNCH Sports Extra.

It took Yusuf four games to hit the ground running in the Serbian topflight this season but he has become the cynosure with his goalscoring exploits which began with a brace against Radnicki in August.

Last Friday, Yusuf stole the show inside the Caizcoin Arena as Vojvodina, netting all four goals for the visitors as they strolled to an excellent 4-0 victory over Novi Pazar in their Serbian Super Liga clash, making him the second Nigerian after Vincent Eze to score four for the club in an away match.

“Dele reached the historical success in Pazar in less than an hour! He scored the goals in the 19th, 66th, 75th, and 78th minutes,” the club wrote on their website.

On the historical moment, the forward said more of such will propel him to his target.

“It was an amazing moment for me. I just wanted to continue giving my best every game and I believe I will score more goals with the help of my teammates.

Yusuf joined Vojvodina as their sixth signing in the summer of 2024 from Radnički Niš, where he spent six months, and showed quality with an impressive return of six goals and five assists in 16 matches.

Before arriving in Serbia, this Nigerian player played for Portuguese side Estoril and Spartak Trnava in Slovakia where he first plied his trade after arriving in Europe from Nigeria in 2020.
