Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has voiced his disappointment over the conduct of the ongoing Ramadan Feeding program in the Kano metropolis accusing handlers of siphoning food.
This was contained in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday.
The governor expressed his dismay during an impromptu visit to one of the feeding centres in Gidan Maza, Municipal Local Government Area.
During his inspection, Governor Yusuf conveyed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of the program handlers, accusing them of depriving the intended beneficiaries.
He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, stating, “We will not accept dishonesty and mismanagement of public resources.”
His impromptu inspection was prompted by intelligence reports suggesting deficiencies in the management of the feeding program at various centres across the metropolis.
The Governor’s proactive approach underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of social welfare programs during the holy month of Ramadan.
