…..organise Ramadan lecture for Ondo Muslims community
The Minister for Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has called on Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance and live peacefully with one another, urging Muslims to reflect on the lessons learnt during the Ramadan period.
Tunji-Ojo made the call while hosting Muslim community in Ondo state for the 2025 edition of Ramadan Iftar, stressed the need for all Nigerians to imbibe the tenets of tolerance and unity for one another irrespective of ethnic and religious differences.

Represented by the House of Representatives member for Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency, commended the Muslim community for their continuous prayers, support and love for the present administration
He also appreciated them for sustaining religious harmony in the state, noting that the peaceful atmosphere had brought about significant development in the state
He noted that the event is to bring together, the Muslim community and to reflect on the lessons embedded in the period of Ramadan.
According to him, “The minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is dedicated to peaceful coexistence among different religious tendencies in the state and Nigeria at large.
He said the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ensured unity and prosperity of the country above religious alignment.
“He loves his people and he has never abandoned his duty as a servant of the Nigerian people. I have his instructions to assure you of his continued support for our people.” he said
In the lecture, delivered by a prominent Islamic scholar, Sheik Abdul Rafiu Ajiboye Lagbaji, focused on Religious Tolerance and peaceful coexistence between religions.
He emphasised on exploring the full benefits of prayers in the holy month of Ramadan and beyond.
Ajiboye- Lagbaji urged the people to always reflect on the peace and unity message and its relevance to their daily lives, towards fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
The event also included prayers, recitations from the Quran, and other spiritual activities.
The event, which is a yearly tradition, provides a platform for community members to engage in religious discourse and strengthen their faith during the holy month of Ramadan.
The 2025 edition which was held in Okeagbe Akoko was attended by political leaders, religious leaders and traditional leaders from the state.
The Chairman of the event, Engineer Bello Aliu Oluwatosin admonished the muslim umars to keep praying for Nigeria and its prosperity.
He expressed his appreciation for the Muslim community and encouraged them to use the holy month as a time for positive reflection.
Speaking on behalf of the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Engagement, Mr Bode Obanla, assured the people of the freedom of religion to the people.
He emphasized the Governor’s dedication to the development of the state and the growth of its people.
