The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has declared that directing curses at individuals online constitutes cyberbullying, a criminal offence punishable under the law
He posted this on his X handle, formerly Twitter on Friday.
He strongly criticised the act of directing curses at individuals online, describing it as cyberbullying and highlighting its legal implications.
Adejobi stressed that such behaviour goes beyond the boundaries of free speech and constitutes a punishable offence.
He wrote, “Raining direct curses on someone online is cyberbullying, not expression of freedom or criticism. And cyberbullying, which is even different from defamation, is a criminal offence and is punishable. Be guided.”
