Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has appealed to Nigerians to join hands with the police and other security agencies to fight crimes in the land.
He insisted that security is everybody’s business while speaking at the Bompai headquarters of the Command, where he launched the 1,000 motorcycles facilitated by his office.
He urged Nigerians to support the officers with prayers, information, logistics, and everything necessary for them to effectively discharge their assigned responsibilities.
Jibrin explained that the purpose of the motorcycles was to enhance crime fighting in the state while insisting that the police have been supported to chase criminals to the nooks and crannies of the state.
He thanked the police and other security agencies for ensuring peace in the state. “Kano is one of the few states where there is peace, where there is neither terrorism nor banditry in the North-West region,” he said.
In his remarks of gratitude, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo, appreciated the Deputy Senate President and said the motorcycles would enhance mobility and operational capacity.
“Let’s wield them with pride, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to upholding the values of integrity, accountability, and respect for the rule of law,” he added.
