JJ Classics Production has announced its latest production, ‘The Marriage of Anansewa’, a historical stage play written by Efua T. Sutherland.
Following the success of ‘Eclipsed the Stage Play’ at the Wole Soyinka Theatre, Ibadan, ‘The Marriage of Anansewa’ will be staged at the Wole Soyinka Theatre on August 24th, 2024.
“The Marriage of Anansewa is a play written by Efua T. Sutherland which she refers to as Anansegoro, a coined art form from the Ghanaian story-telling art called “Anansesem” by the Akan-speaking people used to tell lessons of domestic activity.
Featuring an ultra-talented cast, including award-winning actress EjiroOghene “Jyro” Asagba, Elizabeth Kanikwu, and others, ‘The Marriage of Anansewa’ is one great play to watch. Said Martha “Omar” Ogali, Executive Manager, JJ Classics Production.
