Pro-government protesters gathered in Alausa, Ikeja area of Lagos State on Thursday, August 1 as citizens nationwide gear up for the planned demonstration.
In videos and pictures sighted by Daily Sun, those who converged in the aforementioned locale called for non-violent protests while addressing pressmen and those around them.
One of the inscriptions seen on a banner held by them reads, ‘Say no to violent protests’.
The development comes following the order from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun for officers to deal decisively with troublemakers.
Nigerians have been on edge over the scheduled protests beginning today, with several notable bodies and personalities urging those involved to opt for dialogue instead.
