Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Youth Initiatives, Titilope Gbadamosi, has called upon Nigerian youths to prioritize collaboration through innovation as a means to confront challenges and unlock opportunities for national development.
The call to action was made during Gbadamosi’s keynote address at the National Youth Summit, held under the theme “Shaping Our Future Through Innovation and Collaboration,” organized by the Nigerian Students Union in the UK, Nigerian Youth in Diaspora, and the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
While delivering her speech at the University of Westminster, Gbadamosi highlighted the importance of harnessing the collective potential of Nigerian youth to drive transformative change.
She underscored the significance of the summit’s theme and highlighted the imperative for collaborative efforts in overcoming shared challenges and seizing opportunities for national advancement.
She also informed Nigerian youths in Diaspora of President Tinubu’s giant strides in the area of youth development and creating an enabling environment where opportunities could be accessed and utilized for nation-building.
“Today, we stand at a pivotal moment in history, where the collective will and unity of purpose among our youth hold the key to shaping Nigeria’s future,” remarked Gbadamosi.
“As the most populous country in Africa, with approximately 62 per cent of our population comprising youth, Nigeria’s trajectory towards development hinges on the active participation and contribution of its young citizens.”
Quoting President Tinubu, Gbadamosi reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing youth empowerment and addressing the multifaceted issues affecting young people in Nigeria.
“President Tinubu firmly believes that the youth constitute Nigeria’s most promising asset and hold the key to unlocking the nation’s true potential,” she affirmed.
Drawing parallels with historical examples of transformative collaboration, such as Japan’s Meiji Restoration, Gbadamosi emphasized the power of collective action in driving national progress.
She urged attendees to emulate the spirit of unity and purpose displayed by past generations, citing Nigeria’s diverse strengths and potential for innovation across various sectors.
Highlighting ongoing efforts to revitalize the Nigerian economy and promote industrialization, digitization, and creative arts, Gbadamosi stressed the need for concerted action in harnessing Nigeria’s vast resources and talent pool.

She referenced recent accolades, such as Goldman Sachs naming the Naira as the world’s fastest-recovering currency, as a testament to the nation’s resilience and potential for growth.
Gbadamosi, however, called upon Nigerian youth to seize the opportunity to actively participate in the nation’s rebuilding efforts. “We have the heart, we have the mind, and now, we must summon the collective will to join hands in realizing Nigeria’s full potential,” she declared.
“Together, let us forge a path towards a brighter future, where Nigeria emerges as a beacon of greatness for generations to come.”
