The chairman of the governing council of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, in Oyo State, Professor Abiodun Adebowale Ojo, is dead.
Arogidigba Global Journal gathered that the Ojo passed away on Tuesday.
He was a Professor of Educational Evaluation and served as the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Specialised and Professional Education at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, on sabbatical.
The deceased is the elder brother of one of the commissioners in the state, Mr Ademola Ojo.
The three unions in the institution; Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnic (SSANIP) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), described the death of the deceased as painful.
The unions, in the statement signed by the trio of Engineer Adeboje Taiwo Bode (ASUP Chairman) Mr Titiloye, Joseph (SSANIP Chairman) and Mr Jayeola, Titus (NASU Chairman) described the deceased as a bridge builder and a peacemaker.
The trio in the statement made available to Arogidigba Global Journal on Thursday said, “It took us a while to come to terms with the reality of your unexpected demise, hence, this is coming now. “Your death is agonisingly painful. It is quite unfortunate, we have to use past tense to qualify you.
“You were a bridge builder and a peacemaker. Your unwavering dedication and visionary leadership in the institution is exemplary.
“Your passing to be with the triumphant saints leaves a void that will be felt by the unions who had the privilege of working directly with you. We will always remember your good deeds in fostering harmony in the Polytechnic community. God shall give us and the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
