Lagos State Police command will soon prosecute three staff of Don Maserati Classic Boutique, Lagos Island, arrested over assault of a female staff accused of theft.
The suspects were arrested on the orders of Commissioner of Police, Olanrenwaju Ishola.
The order was given following a viral video showing five men inside Don Maserati Classic Boutique, assaulting a lady on the alleged order of the owner.
In the video, the lady dressed in black gown, was seen being assaulted and molested.
The owner of the boutique had allegedly accused her of theft.
The suspects were arrested by operatives of Lion Building, Area A and handed over to the state command headquarters, Ikeja.
There was public outcry over the humiliation of the victim who was still a suspect as the time she was being brutalized. However, members of the public demanded that the police should investigate the action of the matter and bring those who brutalized her to book.
Based on the public outcry, the CP on Monday ordered a full scale investigation into the matter .
Confirming the incident on his official X handle, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO), CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, explained that three suspects have been arrested, while efforts were on to apprehend other suspects and establish contact with the victim.
“The state Commissioner of Police has assured Lagosians that justice will be served” he stated.
