The Police have summoned Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, for questioning over an ongoing investigation involving resistance and obstruction of public officers.
The police said that Sowore’s name featured prominently in the subject of the investigation into the incident, which it said, among others, was intended to cause grievous harm or prevent arrest.
This was made known in a letter addressed to Sowore by the Deputy Inspector-General, Force Intelligence Department, FID, Force Headquarters, Area 11, Garki, Abuja. The letter was shared on X by Sowore himself.
Arogidigba Global Journal learnt the summon followed a video Sowore recorded during an altercation with police officers on the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Access Road in Lagos.
According to the letter, he is requested to report for an interview with the DIG, Force Intelligence Department, FID, on Monday, 27th January, 2025 at 10:00 am.
Meanwhile, Sowore said he will report to the police as demanded in the letter.
“The @PoliceNG invitation has arrived, I will be there on Monday as requested. #RevolutionNow,” he posted on X.
