The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 33-year-old man, Olayemi Shedrack who has been on its wanted list and was allegedly said to have been responsible for the rape of some female students of the state-owned Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun after robbing them of valuables.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, Omolola Odutola disclosed that the suspect was apprehended while trying to blend with the crowd in Ijagun.
Odutola said, “It was earlier recorded that the suspect and his accomplices unlawfully entered the female Royal villa accommodation area at Tai University of Education in Ijagun. They stole valuable educational items such as laptops, iPhones, sports watches, and cash from female students, and also committed sexual assault before fleeing the scene.”
The 33-year-old suspected rapist has been on the wanted list and was allegedly said to have been responsible for the rape of some female students of the state-owned Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun after robbing them of valuables.
Odutola recorded in her statement that “Olayemi Olawale Shedrack has been on police trail for his involvement in armed robbery and sexual assault, he was identified as the main suspect in a reported incident of armed robbery and rape that took place on July 21, 2024.”
