The previous Director Common of Peter Obi-Datti Presidential Marketing campaign Group, Doyin Okupe, has resigned from the Labour Celebration, LP.
Okupe anchored his resignation on ideological variations that emerged after the 2023 elections.
He defined that his lifelong alignment with right-wing and liberal democratic ideas clashed with LP’s left-of-center ideology, making continued membership untenable.
In a letter made out there to journalists on Monday, Okupe stated: “I submit herewith my letter of resignation from the Labour Celebration with impact from at the moment. You’ll recall that our flagbearer, Mr Peter Obi, myself and others left the PDP abruptly and needed to search for a Particular Function Car wherein to contest the 2023 Presidential Elections.
“The Labour Celebration, your good self, and different members of your executives offered us with this veritable platform with no burdensomeness by any means and for which we have been extraordinarily grateful.
“We did contest the election on the platform of the Labour Celebration and misplaced. This makes it exceedingly troublesome for me to proceed to remain within the Labour Celebration which is ideologically rooted within the left of the middle.
“I’ve been a rightist and a Liberal Democrat all my complete life. It’s subsequently this ideological battle that makes me search an exit in order that I’ll proceed my political actions with liberalism, sincerity and freedom.
“I want to thanks specifically and different members of the management of the celebration for the cordiality and respect accorded to me because the Director Common of the Obi-Datti Presidential Marketing campaign Group.
