An association under the auspices of the Patriotic Elders for Peace and Unity (PEPU)in Kano, has called on Nigerians to be wary of the attitude of some disgruntled politicians and analysts, whose statements and actions coming from them, are capable of plunging the country into unrest situation and anarchy.
This was just as the group stated that nobody is saying the government should not be criticised, but there should be constructive views and proffering solutions that can move the nation out of the present predicament being faced
Making this assertion on Saturday, the president of PEPU, Dr. Bature Abdulaziz, at the end of an emergency meeting held in Kano, said that “it is highly disheartening at this period that every reasonable Nigerian supposed to be patriotic looking at the critical situation the country found itself, however, some disgruntled elements are busy trying to cause civil unrest.
“The persistent provocative statements coming out from various politicians and people who tagged themselves as analysts, are capable of creating serious chaos and uncertainty in the country.
“It is highly regrettable that no one can not comprehend the actual missions of some highly placed politicians who are persistently making comments that could lead to a treasonable felony, just because some policies of the government have in the first instance create unintended hardship.”
AbdulAziz lamented that most of those who are today in the vanguard of their irresponsible missions of plunging Nigeria into war or at most causing confusion, were the same politicians who wanted to lead this country either at state or federal levels, but they were not voted for.
He strongly cautioned Nigerians not to listen to people who clearly don’t wish them well, who are hellbent on making things more difficult for them than supporting government efforts in entrenching the goods governance they promised.
He then asked “Why is it difficult for those politicians and so-called analysts to understand that globally today, there is recession all over the world.
“However, in other countries that were passing the same economic recession, you can not hear their opposition politicians making similar inflammatory comments that were the trade mark of our people, rather they would be offering ways that things will be solved.
“Today, is not the same stories that most of the western developed countries were facing as regards the economic difficulties, but everyone in those countries are supporting the government to get out of their sorry situations, but the reverse was the case in Nigeria.
“Nigeria politicians should borrow a leaf from those countries and try to be patriotic, so that this current unfortunate economic hardship could be solved by the combined efforts of the government, Nigerians and every other patriotic citizen.”
AbdulAziz, said they are going to meet the president to offer their advice on what should be done, rather than attacking the government, without any concrete solutions.
