With a mandate to resolve lingering issues in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, former
lawmaker representing Ibadan North federal constituency, Honourable Dada Awoleye and 12 others were on Thursday inaugurated as the Ogun PDP caretaker committee.
The inauguration conducted by the National Vice Chairman, South-West, Kamorudeen Ajisafe held at the South-West secretariat, Ibadan, in the presence of party faithful across the six states of the region.
Inaugurating the committee, Ajisafe said the members had the task to bring together all the tendencies with a view to forging the way forward for the party in Ogun State.
He added that the Awoleye-led committee also had the duty to midwife the real Ogun State party executive structure starting from the ward to local government to state level.
Ajisafe said the committee had a three-month mandate.
Speaking after the inauguration, Awoleye said the committee was not unaware of the issues plaguing the Ogun PDP, and was poised to resolve them.
He added that the committee would ensure that all party structures at ward, local government and state levels are intact.
The ultimate aim, Awoleye stressed, are to ensure inclusivity and win Ogun State for PDP in the next election.
Awoleye declared that with all party leaders closing ranks, the PDP is poised to win all elections before 2027.
Committee members inaugurated are: Semiu Sodipo, Taiwo Akinfenwa, Afolabi Orekoya, Remi Odubote, Boye Adesina, Jemilat Ajagbe, Dimeji Fabiyi, Kayode Olurin, Seun Salisu, Sarafadeen Awotunde, Dapo Ayodele and Paul Oladipo as secretary.
