New ward executives of the Taraba State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have emerged from the just concluded ward Congress of the party.
The Congress which took place on Saturday across the 168 political wards of the state, was conducted peacefully.
Some of the delegates who spoke with Arogidigba Global Journal believe that the forthcoming local government and the state congresses will be hitch-free.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Abubakar Bawa, who applauded the party’s leadership for conducting a free, fair and credible ward congress, urged them to repeat the same at the local and state congresses.
Also commenting on the congress, the council chairman of Sardauna, Mohammed Umar, called for unity and collective effort within the party.
He urged the party’s faithful to work towards a common goal, arguing that only through solidarity can the PDP family effectively support the leadership of the current administration in the state.
Expressing confidence that a united front would enable the PDP to contribute significantly to the development of the state and strengthen the bonds among its members, he called on the newly elected ward executives to adopt an inclusive approach to leadership.
He also encouraged them to involve everyone by ensuring that all voices within the party are heard and considered in decision-making processes.
Some of the newly elected ward executives who bared their minds to Arogidigba Global Journal vowed to abide strictly by the constitution of the party.
