The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has celebrated the success of his recent eye surgery at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, describing it as “painless and perfect” process.
Sharing the update on Friday via his official X account, Abayomi expressed gratitude to the medical team for their expertise and outstanding care during the procedure.
“Thrilled to share that I just had a successful eye surgery @LASUTH, Ikeja,” the commissioner wrote.
He extended special thanks to the oculoplastic surgeons, Prof. Mrs. Bola Adekoya and Dr. Rosemay Ngwu, for their professionalism and for ensuring the procedure was painless.

“Huge thanks to the incredible oculoplastic surgeons in the Eye Department, especially Prof. Mrs. Bola Adekoya and Dr. Rosemay Ngwu, for their expertise and for making the procedure painless.
“A special shoutout to the amazing nursing care led by Apex Nurse Adejoke Okeowo. You truly made a difference!” he added.
Abayomi also commended Prof. Adebowale O. Adekoya, the Director of Clinical Services and Training at LASUTH, for leading the team and ensuring excellent service delivery. He expressed appreciation to the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabanwo, for his leadership in advancing healthcare standards at the hospital.
The commissioner concluded his message with praise for all LASUTH staff, acknowledging their dedication and outstanding services.
He wrote, “Cheers to all the dedicated staff at LASUTH for their outstanding services.”
