Ekiti governor, Biodun Oyebanji has assured drivers and other artisans in the state of his administration’s commitment to support and empower them for the growth of the state’s economy.
He also revealed that the dualisation of the Ado-Ekiti-Ikare-Akoko road will soon commence.
Oyebanji reiterated the efforts of his administration to partner with the federal government towards addressing the infrastructure challenges confronting the state, particularly the dualisation of the 31-kilometre highway that connects Ekiti to the FCT through Ondo, Edo, and Kogi.
The governor, stated these in Ado-Ekiti while inaugurating the newly constructed office complex of National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) Ekiti State Chapter.
Oyebanji noted that continuity of Government from a single political party will bring unprecedented development to the state, saying the little setback experienced in the State was a result of taking over of power by other political parties.
Earlier, Chairman, NURTW in Ekiti, Joseph Falope also known as Oloforo appealed to the governor to empower members by purchasing vehicles for members of the drivers union in Ekiti.
He appreciated the governor for his developmental policies across all sectors of the state, pledging the support of all members of the union to the governor in delivering his campaign promises to the people of the state.
Also speaking at the inauguration, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Steve Aribasoye said there is need for Governor Oyebanji to contest for second term in office by yielding to the clarion call of residents of the state.
The Speaker pledged the support of the 7th Assembly to the present administration aimed at creating legacy impacts and development for the state.
