The Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) are now at loggerheads over the rehabilitation of the state government house by the Adeleke-led administration.
As PDP in a statement by its Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi posited that the Governor is delivering many projects and programmes which Oyetola failed to achieve under four years, the APC through it’s Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal maintained that, Adeleke N1bn rehabilitated Government House had already been rehabilitated to taste by the immediate-past Governor Gboyega Oyetola now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
The PDP however stated that contrary to the APC claim, the Oyetola”s administration in the state, has full records of several projects for which money was collected without the jobs being done and that, Governor Adeleke, abandoned the idea of a probe and is instead completing many projects and starting new ones.

Bisi however warned former Governor Gboyega Oyetola to stop using and dropping the names of President Bola Tinubu to disrupt governance in Osun state, warning that the state will open can of worms on the former Governor unless he stopped his disruptive activities.
He accused the former Governor of being a bad loser who has continued to pursue a failed agenda to make the state ungovernable through dropping of the President’s name to perpetrate political evil in Osun state.
The statement read:”We are constrained to bring to the attention of Mr President and the entire Presidency the untowards activities of former Governor Oyetola which are capable of destroying the peace and stability of Osun state and negatively undermine the presidential agenda for Osun state, South West and Nigeria as a whole.
“We start by noting that the opposition has a legitimate right to play the role of the opposition. Such opposition roles do not however entail evil moves targeting at destroying the peace of the state, misrepresentation of presidential intention, the deliberate disruption of state-federal relations or attempted unlawful abuse of federal power against state officials performing their statutory roles. That will amount to malignant behaviour and a direct threat to democratic ideals.
“We posit that Mr Oyetola was not the first person to lose an election. Great democrats abide by peoples’ wishes and prepare to re-contest. They don’t pull down the house; they don’t get consumed under vengeful poison.
“Governor Adeleke, despite being rigged out in 2018, congratulated Mr Oyetola and moved abroad to complete his education. He instructed us never to attack the new government but to go and prepare for 2022, a process we launched when the timetable for the election was released.”
But, the APC in it’s own statement accused the state Governor of being a perpetual expert in the employment of misplaced priority to run his infamous administration.
Commenting on the development, the Osun State chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, said it is a shame that Governor Adeleke could be involved in flaunting the Government House rehabilitated with N1 billion in this austere period when Osun state has been declared the corporate headquarters of poverty in Yorubaland.
Lawal wondered how such showcasing of the rehabilitated Government House should attract the priority of a governor who has not deemed it fit to provide palliatives to the people of the state to ameliorate their suffering.
“It is a pity that while the counterparts of Governor Adeleke in other states are preoccupied with how to lessen the debilitating effects of the Federal Government removal of fuel subsidy through palliatives, the Osun State governor was busy celebrating something that cannot positively impact the people of the state.
“Any way, we have solace in the fact that the administration of Governor Adeleke is a tenured one of four years which is having 33 more months to be flushed out of the Government House.
“We want to impress it on Governor Adeleke and his co-travellers that we, just like other discerning members of the public in Osun State, are not amused by the Adeleke N1bn rehabilitated Government House which had already been rehabilitated to taste by the immediate-past Governor Gboyega Oyetola now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.
“The said Government House rehabilitation was a superfluity, unnecessary and a mere job for the boys fraudulently executed to fleece the state of its common patrimony in naira and kobo,” Lawal stated.
The state APC chairman explained that it was shocking that despite the huge revenue that came the way of the government of the state, there is little or nothing to show for it in the state in terms of physical infrastructure.
He stated that it is disheartening that a governor could resort to the digging of a gutter when the house is on fire.
Lawal disclosed that it must be a sin of the people of the state that must have been responsible for the foisting of an obviously incompetent governor to oversee the destiny of the state at this period.
