The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command has foiled an armed robbery attack and recovered a stolen vehicle from fleeing robbers.
The action, Arogidigba Global Journal gathered occurred at Onibu-Eja community, along Iwo-Ibadan road, Osun state.
The robbery operation was foiled on Saturday afternoon according to a statement by the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Michael Adaralewa and issued by Kehinde Adeleke on Sunday.
The statement reads, “On Saturday, 12th October 2024, at about 15:25 am, a four-man gang of armed robbers invaded a house at Onibu-eja community, Osun State, where a vehicle was stolen at gunpoint from a family. Immediately after the gang left, members of the community made a distress call to NSCDC, Osun State Command for assistance.
“The officers of the command on patrol swung into action and engaged the suspects in a gun duel. Faced with superior firepower the suspects fled leaving the stolen vehicle behind.
“The stolen Toyota Corolla recovered has the chassis number; 1NXBU40E49Z005008 and is currently at Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State. Discreet investigation has commenced to arrest the suspects and make them face the full wrath of the law.”
Adaralewa, who commended the swift response of the officers and their bravery in foiling the armed robbery attack and warned criminally minded people in the state to have a change of mind or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.
The Osun NSCDC boss also lauded members of the public for giving timely information to the command and also assured that the NSCDC would continue to justify the trust reposed in it by members of the public.
