Virtually all appointed Chairmen, Caretaker Committee of the 30 local government areas of Osun State are said to have tendered their resignation letters in preparation for the council elections slated for February 22, 2025, by the Osun State Independent Election Commission (OSIEC).
Sources close to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state disclosed to our reporter that, they have started rendering their resignation letters three days ago.
Though, the informed sources disclosed that, they resigned to be able to participate fully in the forthcoming local government elections in the state fixed for next year.
However, in confirmation to the claim of our sources, one of the caretaker’s Chairmen from Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Adewale Adeyinka in his resignation letter, addressed to Governor Ademola Adeleke, dated 17th July 2024, stated that, he resigned in order to move on to pursue further opportunities to serve his people.

A copy of the Odo-Otin caretaker chairman letter obtained by our reporter appreciated the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve his people.
The letter read:_I hope this letter finds you well. It is with a sense of duty and respect for our democratic principles that I write to tender my resignation from my position as Chairman of the Caretaker Committee for Odo-Otin Local Government, effective immediately.”
“As I move on to pursue further opportunities to serve my people, I want to assure you that the good work we have started will not end.
“I remain committed to supporting the growth and development of Odo-Otin Local Government in any capacity I can. It has been an honour to serve, and I am proud of the progress we have made together”, he added.
