The first day of Ramadan 2024 has been announced in Osun State.
Arogidigba Global Journal reports that the announcement was made through a signed statement by Sheikh Musa Animashaun, the Grand Imam and Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas, Osun State chapter.
The statement confirmed that Ramadan will commence on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Arogidigba Global Journal recalled that the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, had earlier announced Monday as the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan after the moon was sighted in Mecca.
The statement by Sheikh Animashaun, who is also the Chief Imam of Osogbo, reads: “In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. In line with the Way of Allah and the Tradition of Prophet Muhammad (saw), I hereby announce that Ramadan 1445 will start tomorrow, Monday, March 11, 2024.
“The first Tarawih will be observed tonight, March 10, 2024.
“I pray that Almighty Allah eases the affairs of our nation, eases our personal issues both during and after Ramadan.”
