The Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) announced on Thursday that the party’s leadership had made every necessary arrangement to welcome Prince Dotun Babayemi, the governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election in Osun State, into its fold.

The party chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi in Osogbo, charged all members and supporters of the party to make it a point of duty to grace the occasion scheduled for Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the State Secretariat of the party in the town.

Lawal further tasked all the stakeholders of the party to put in their best efforts, both individually and collectively, to achieve the desired goal of further fortifying the party.

He assured Prince Babayemi and his supporters who are defecting to the APC that there would be equal opportunities for them and the existing members of the party.

He assured the members and supporters of the APC and those defecting to the party that everything humanly possible has been put in place to make the occasion a superlative success.

The state APC chairman also congratulated those who are defecting to the party for their wise choice, stating that it is God Almighty who has been their political pathfinder, as the APC is a party of the people.

In the words of the APC chairman: “It is not an overstatement to say that Osun State is a traditional APC enclave, and any other party occupying a political space in the state is a mere tenant that will soon be shown the way out of the state.

“The more, the merrier. Let us work assiduously towards the next series of elections in the state and take back our state.

“We are fortunate to have as the leader of the APC in the state, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, who is a known workaholic, a deep thinker, and a consummate politician making an indelible mark in the new Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy,” Lawal stated.
