As business guru and show business promoter, Alhaji Saheed Ishola Aregbesola, is set to mount the exalted seat of Osolo of Isolo Kingdom in Lagos State, the Alabe branch of Alagbeji Royal family has reaffirmed his endorsement by Isolo King makers and Oshodi- Isolo Local Government.
The family head, Alhaji Taoreed Faronbi, made this reaffirmation known in a statement made available to newsmen, saying that the Alabe branch which is the only branch of Alagbeji Royal family that had not produced the Osolo met and unanimously endorsed Aregbesola for the stool.
According to him, this followed a letter to the family from the kingmakers, calling for the selection of a candidate to fill the vacant stool of Osolo of Isolo.
Faronbi said the unanimous decision to endorse Aregbeshola was communicated to the kingmakers and the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government after the meeting held by the royal family, pointing out that what was now left was for the candidate’s name “to be communicated to the state government for ratification.”
“As the Olori Ebi of Alagbeji Royal Family, and having been informed officially, I wrote to inform the Alabe family whose turn it is to present a candidate to do so within the time assigned through my lawyer, as per the attached letter dated July 27, 2024.
“Coming from the background, the Alabe family met on this urgent matter and reached a unanimous decision to present Saheed Ishola Aregbesola as the candidate for the vacant stool of Isolo Kingdom,” Faronbi said.
He, therefore, called on the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babqjide Sanwo-Olu; the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat and the Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert, to disregard the antics of some impostors laying claim to the Osolo stool.
He affirmed that being the head of Alagbeji Royal family, the next in line to produce the next Osolo of Isolo, “the only candidate recognised and formally presented for the vacant stool by the family is Saheed Ishola Aregbesola.”
