Nigeria defender Bright Osayi-Samuel says he will continue to give everything for Fenerbahce after making his 100th appearance for the 19-time Turkish Super Lig champions against Sivasspor on Sunday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahce from QPR in 2021 and has become a mainstay in the team, now tutored by Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.
Since returning from a foot injury, which interrupted his season in October, the 26-year-old has held down his place in the starting lineup and was on for the duration of their 4-0 win on Sunday, which also marked a century of appearances for him.
“I am honoured and proud to play my 100th match in your presence on this important day. I am always ready to give my everything to be worthy of you! The biggest Fenerbahçe,” the defender wrote via X.
Earlier this year, Osayi-Samuel further won the hearts of the Sarı Kanaryalar fans when he defended his teammates against irate pitch invaders during a tension-soaked 3-2 win against Trabzonspor. He later escaped punishment for his involvement in the brawl.
The Nigerian is currently in the last year of his contract with Fenerbahce and will be free to open discussions with other clubs in January.
According to reports in Turkey, two English Premier League clubs have shown interest in the Nigerian, prompting the Yellow-Navy Blues to accelerate their contract negotiations with him to avoid losing him for free at the end of the 2024/25 season.
He has played five games this season, rendering one assist.
