The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, has installed a business guru, Chief Muraina Olashile Alexandra as Agbakin Bashorun of Yoruba land and his wife, Esther Taiwo Murina as Yeye Agbakin Bashorun at the weekend at a ceremony which took place at Ooni’s palace, and witnessed by dignitaries from across the country.

The dignitaries were from culture fold, political circle, top government officials both Federal and states, celebrities and host of others, who gathered to felicitate with the business guru, Chief Alexandra and his wife on their installations.

The foremost monarch, Oba Ogunwusi, handed over the defense sword to the new Agbakin Bashorun the event which featured the fuji maestro, king Saheed Osupa entertaining the guest with his popular lyrics at Ojaja Resort in Ile-Ife.

This followed the one week event which started with traditional libation to seclusion at Oranmiyan groove in Mopa area where new titled chief was told the rules that bind his new office.

The new Agbakin Bashorun of Yoruba land, Chief Alexandra, while addressing newsmen, expressed appreciation to the Ooni of Ife, saying he was highly delighted about the honour, even though it did not come to him as a surprise.

He said this had been foretold, noting that even some of his friends claimed it was long overdue.

Alexander, while further noting that the honour on him showed that Yoruba people placed high value‎ on their customs and traditions, assured his Imperial Majesty, Oba Ogunwusi that he would never regret giving him what he described as this historic title.

The newly installed Agbakin Bashorun of Yoruba land, also promised to use everything within his power like Bashorun Ogunmola to defend Yoruba land, even as he appreciated “everyone who, out of their busy schedule, still created time to attend my installation ceremony.”

”I am so happy with the warm reception I witnessed in Ile Ife and am honoured with the title Agbakin Bashorun of Yoruba land bestowed on me by his Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi. It shows that Yoruba people place high value on their customs and traditions.‎

“I want to assure his Imperial Majesty that he will never regret giving me this historic title and I also promise to use everything within my power like Bashorun Ogunmola to defend Yoruba land. I appreciate everyone who, out of their busy schedule, still created time to attend my installation ceremony,” he said.
