The Labour Party (LP) has stated that only a consolidated, highly integrated, and united opposition can unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The party’s Director General of the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration, Marcel Ngogbehei, made this assertion in a statement on Tuesday. He also cautioned Obidients and state coordinators against sowing discord within the movement, warning that such actions would weaken their opposition efforts.
Ngogbehei said: “Only a consolidated, highly integrated, and united opposition can dislodge the APC from power in 2027.”
He urged LP members to keep the fire of hope alive and remain steadfast in their shared purpose, which he said would inspire others with similar passion and vision.
“As we usher in this new year, I am filled with gratitude and hope for the incredible strides we have made together in the quest for a better Nigeria.
“You, the pillars of the Obidient Movement, have shown remarkable resilience, dedication, and belief in the vision of a united, equitable, and prosperous nation.
“This year, 2025, is the Year of Unveiling—a pivotal time to transform hope into action and dreams into reality. It is a time to consolidate our efforts, strengthen our ranks, and intensify our collective push toward the Nigeria we all desire.”
Addressing internal divisions, he stated: “Those who sow seeds of discord within the Obidient Movement must pause and rethink. Divisions weaken our resolve, dilute our strength, and play into the hands of those who have no interest in the people’s welfare.”
Ngogbehei charged LP members and Obidients to set aside their differences and focus on the bigger picture: delivering Nigeria from inefficiency and restoring it to the path of progress.
“We need every voice, every heart, and every thumbprint to achieve this. To the faithful across all states and beyond, I urge you all to keep the fire of hope burning, remain steadfast in our shared purpose, and inspire others with the same passion and vision.
“Let us continue to work together, guided by the principles of integrity, equity, and justice, as we build momentum for the milestones ahead.
“The challenges are immense, but our determination is stronger. Let this year be a rallying point for deeper integration, collaboration, and preparation for the journey ahead.
“Together, we are unstoppable. Together, we will build the Nigeria of our dreams,” he added.
