Voting materials and the ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have arrived at most of the polling units in the Irele local government area of Ondo state for today’s governorship election.
Tribune Online correspondent who visited the area observed that as early as 7am, INEC officials were seen setting up the polling units in preparatory for the voting which is expected to commence by 8:30am.
At units 003, and 019, Anglican primary school ward 8 in the LGA, voters were seen at the units checking their names on the voters register pasted on the wall.
Our correspondent observed that some officials of the leading political parties participating in the election were with bags full of cash for buying of votes.
Some of the voters who spoke with Tribune Online stated that they would be ready to collect money for their votes.
