Former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko on Sunday described the passing away of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Temitayo Oluwatuyi, as a great loss to the state.

Mimiko in a statement made available on Sunday said the late SSG who was a leading light in the Akure community would be greatly missed by his immediate family and political associates,

According to the former governor of the state, who described Oluwatuyi as a reputable political leader loved for his gentle and calm disposition by the people.

The statement read, “Sad as the loss is, we all have to accept the fact that the deceased has finished his earthly race, though too early in all ramifications.

“All we can do is commiserate his family, nuclear and extended, the Ondo State Governor and Government and indeed all those who genuinely feel his demise,”

On the character and pedigree of the departed, Mimiko said: “In all the instances of our political engagements, Tuykana, as he was fondly called, epitomised cool calmness, humility and all-round comportment.

“Hon. Oluwatuyi was a dedicated public servant whose unwavering commitment to his people and dedication to duty was self-evident.

“Having served the people as a government official in various capacities, including as Chairman of Akure South local government, Commissioner and twice as SSG, Hon. Oluwatuyi will forever be remembered for his invaluable contributions to the development of Ondo State.”

He expressed the condolences of his family saying: “My family and I join all others to express our deepest condolences to the Oluwatuyi family of Akure, the Ondo State government as well as friends and associates of the departed during this difficult time.”
