Ondo State Governor and All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, received his Certificate of Return on Monday at the party national secretariat in Abuja.
Last week, the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, met with Governor Aiyedatiwa and 15 other aspirants in a troubleshooting move to placate the aggrieved aspirants.
Speaking with journalists shortly after collecting the Certificate of Return, Governor Aiyedatiwa said he has continued with peace moves to convince aggrieved aspirants to work with him.
He disclosed that the majority of the aspirants have agreed to be part of his campaigns as he revealed that only three have remained recalcitrant.

He said: “Immediately after the primaries, there were aspirants that were aggrieved, petitions were submitted. But we have been talking, the national secretariat called us and majority of them accepted. About 11 agreed that it is over and that a winner has emerged. The other three we have been talking and that has led to the final report of the appeal committee that has been adopted. That will tell you that issues have been resolved and we are working together. “
On his peace deal to integrate the other aspirants through the formation of an inclusive administration to accommodate contending forces, Governor Aiyedatiwa said he would not renege on the peace deal.
“An inclusive government yes, but don’t forget that I told them that appointments haven’t been made and we are looking at that.”
He expressed confidence in winning a fresh tenure after the November 16 off-season election as he noted that the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which could offer formidable opposition has since been depleted.
“No opposition is formidable to upstage us in Ondo state. PDP is weakened because their strong stalwarts have defected to APC. We know ourselves. Myself and the PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi are from same Federal Constituency. APC is the preferred party now in Ondo state, the people are determined and they are the ones that will decide and we know that from our projects we know we have the support of the people of Ondo state. There is nothing to fear.”
