Governor Fortunate Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State says the governors of the south-west zone will proceed to work collectively to make sure the continuity of the Western Nigeria Safety Community, codenamed Amotekun Corps.
Aiyedatiwa gave the peace of mind on Thursday after a 5 km stroll from the Cathedral space to the Governor’s workplace in Akure by Amotekun Corps officers and males.
The Amotekun commanders of the 5 South West states of Ekiti, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, and Ondo partook within the stroll to honour the late governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Aiyedatiwa appreciated the corps for safeguarding lives and properties of residents within the zone, noting that their actions over time in defending the individuals couldn’t be overemphasized.
“I can guarantee you that Amotekun can be sustained due to its position in society.
“As a result of the safety of lives and properties of the individuals of the south-west zone is essential to us, we’ll use no matter is in our possession to help and maintain it,” he mentioned.
The governor, subsequently, praised the Amotekun corps commanders and their males for honouring the late Akeredolu, “whose passage was a monumental loss to the state and Amotekun as an entire.”
Responding on behalf of the commanders, Mr Adetunji Adeleye, Commander of Ondo State Safety Community, famous that the late Akeredolu will proceed to be remembered for his legacy.
Adeleye, who’s the Chairman of the South West Amotekun Commanders, appreciated the officers and males of the corps for his or her unrelenting efforts.
