The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ode-Aye Ward 1 of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State has suspended a female governorship aspirant in the last primary election held on April 20, 2024, Folake Omogoroye.
This is contained in a letter signed by the APC Chairman in the ward, Akinsowola Awodele, and supported by 12 other exco members on Monday evening in the state.
The letter said Omogoroye was suspended for “anti-party activities and flagrant disobedience for the constituted authority of the party”.
Arogidigba Global Journal recalls that the female governorship aspirant, alleging irregularities, had approached the court to seek the cancellation of the governorship primary election that produced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the candidate of the party.
Omogoroye is the latest former governorship aspirant to be suspended by her party, coming after similar disciplinary action was taken against the Ondo South Senator, Jimoh Ibrahim.
Suspended alongside Omogoroye are four ward executives of the party, including, Ayesan Tunde, the Organising Secretary; Jemiken Seyi, Assistant Public Relations Officer; Adebayo Omobayo, Assistant Welfare Secretary; and Eweje Omotayo, Assistant Treasurer.
