Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the northern senatorial district of Ondo state, have unanimously endorsed the governorship bid ambition of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 2024 election.
The party faithful who converged on Oka Akoko, in Akoko South West local government area of the state said the endorsement of Aiyedatiwa became necessary to enable him complete the transformation programmes initiated by the late governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders, the spokesperson of the leaders, a former lawmaker from the area and Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa, Honourable Gbenga Omole, said the endorsement of the governor aligned with the aspirations of the majority of the people of the area and the state, commending Aiyedatiwa for his developmental efforts, particularly in ensuring peace and stability within the party and state after assuming power as the state governor.
Expressing the support of the leaders and people from the area, Omole urged Ayedatiwa to continue working diligently to fulfil the high expectations of the people, assuring him of people’s support in winning the party’s ticket for the election.”
He said Ayedatiwa administration has been able to attend to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state within a short time he assumed dm.
According to him, Ayedatiwa’s administration worked as a team to deliver good governance to the people and never disappointed the good people of the state as he served the state with sacrifice, dedication and patriotism.
He appealed to the people of the area to throw their weight behind Ayedatiwa, saying the governor will bring and spread development and proceeds of democracy across the state.
While assuring the people of Akoko southwest of Aiyedatiwa’s Midas touches and democratic deliverables, the leaders however, appealed to members of the party to be wary of the antics of saboteurs and deceitful elements in the party as the state goes into an election this year.
Highlighting the giant strides of Aiyedatiwa to include, payment of salaries to civil servants, gratuity to pensioners, construction of roads, sanitizing the state through the Ministry of Environment as well as his interventions in education within the short time.
The party members in the area appreciated the governor for appointing three of their illustrious sons into various positions but urged the governor to appoint more hands from the area to work with him to ensure success of his government
They, however, called on Ayedatiwa to declare his interest in the 2024 governorship election in the state, saying the governor has been faithful and joined hands with late governor Akeredolu in piloting the affairs of the state
Leaders of the party who attended the meeting include Prof. Ajayi Boroffice, Hon Ade Adeogun, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan, Hon (Chief) Victor Ategbole, Hon Olugbenga Omole, Tolu Babaleye, Felix Alonge, Chief Sehinde Mise, and Johnson Alabi.
Others are Felix Alonge, Stephen Adeyeri, Hon Ope Igbede, Gbenga Eniyandunmo, Dapo Fasesin, Dr Olatunbosun Omoniyi, Mr Gbenga Atiba, Mr Tony Jayeola, party chairmen across the 15 wards, past and present ward executives among others.
