The Omo Aj’orosun Club has commended the governor of Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde, for his role in making the inauguration of the new Olubadan palace a reality.
The club, comprising sons and daughters of Ibadan, joined the people of Ibadan in celebrating the inauguration of the new Olubadan palace, describing the occasion as a historic milestone in the annals of Ibadanland.
In a statement signed by the club’s president, Chief Sunday Gbenjo Oyekanmi and made available to journalists by the club’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Toyeshe Lawal, the club hailed sons and daughters of Ibadan both at home and diaspora over the successful completion of the palace.
The statement reads:”We are thrilled to see the new Olubadan palace being inaugurated and we commend governor Makinde for his efforts and roles.
“We also want to congratulate and commend sons and daughters of Ibadan land over the successful completion of the palace.
“The new palace is a testament to the people of Ibadan’s commitment to preserving our cultural heritage and promoting the rich history of Ibadanland. We are proud to associate ourselves with this noble endeavor.” the statement read.
The club also congratulated the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakunlehin, ahead of his coronation scheduled to hold tomorrow July 12, 2024.
