The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Owolabi Olakulehin, on Monday, warned the newly installed Mogajis and Baales not to involve in negative conduct that could tarnish their images.
He gave the warning during the installation of nine Mogajis and five Baales in Ibadanland, held at his palace, in Oke Aremo, Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The newly installed Mogajis include Mohammed Sawere (Mogaji Ojo Sawere family), Oopo Yeosa; Isiaka Olagunju (Mogaji Opere compound, Born photo, Isale Osi); Dawodu Adio (Mogaji Olukosi family, Isale Osi); Ganiyu Akeredolu (Mogaji Orowusi family, Kobomoje area); Atere Oriyomi (Mogaji Atere family, Inalende area); among others.
Those who were installed as Baales were Olatunji Musibau (Baale of Ajala Village in Oluyole LG); Abideen Alapinti (Baale of Olajumoke Alapinti Village in Ido LG), among others..
Olakulehin, who spoke through the Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Abiodun Kola-Daisi, enjoined the newly installed Mogajis and Baales not to act as lords and masters over their families and subjects.
“You have been installed today to be the representatives of the Olubadan in your various domains. Therefore, you are expected to do away with any behaviour contrary to the traditional and cultural values of Ibadanland, knowing fully that the Olubadan is the owner of the traditional titles you are holding which can be withdrawn in case of any misdemeanour.
“I, hereby, congratulate you and your families on your emergence as traditional title holders in Ibadanland. I pray that together, we will take Ibadanland to greater levels of development,” the monarch said.
