Chelsea and Manchester United have suffered a big transfer blow as Michael Olise completed his £60 million move to Bayern Munich.
The Crystal Palace talisman has long been a major target for the Blues and Red Devils, but he turned down offers from both clubs and Newcastle United.
Chelsea believed they had signed Olise last summer, but he instead signed a new contract with Selhurst Park that contained a fresh release clause.
Bayern triggered it last month, with the Frenchman eager to join the Bundesliga giants and realize his ambition of playing in the Champions League, which other bidders could not match.

Speaking out after signing a five-year deal at Munich, Olise said: “The talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club,” Olise, who has signed a five-year contract with the Bavarians, said.
“It’s a great challenge, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”
Olise joined Palace from Reading for under £9 million in 2021 and immediately established himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest young players.
Despite numerous major injuries, the 22-year-old scored ten goals and provided six assists in just 19 games, propelling Oliver Glasner’s team to tenth place.
