From Laide Raheem, Abeokuta
The Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Lukman Adeleye, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to demonstrate sincerity and commitment in tackling the nation’s problems in the new year.
Adeleye, representing the Odogbolu State Constituency in the House, emphasised the need for genuine leadership to steer the country towards a better future.
The lawmaker, in his New Year statement in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday, expressed optimism about a better Nigeria, citing the resilience and determination of Nigerians who have persevered through the economic challenges of the past year.
He enjoined Nigerians not to despair or give up on the country, assuring them that “there is light at the end of the tunnel as the President continues to work to move the country forward.”
The Minority Leader envisioned 2025 as a year of abundance, hope, and endless possibilities, praying for a glorious year filled with joy and success.
Meanwhile, Adeleye has gifted a sum of N12.5m to the 15 wards in his constituency, benefiting leaders, traditional councils, support groups, and religious organisations for the yuletide.
He also distributed food items valued at N2m to the people of Ibefun town in Odogbolu Local Government Area as a gesture of support, saying, “This is just part of my promises to the people outside my legislative duties.”
“As Nigerians embark on this new journey in 2025, my call to action serves as a reminder of the importance of sincere leadership and collective responsibility in shaping the nation’s future,” Adeleye concluded in his statement.
